Galle is a beautiful coastal city which is located at a distance of 130 kilometres from Colombo. Known as one of the top tourist places in Sri Lanka, Galle is home to the historic Galle Dutch Fort which attracts history buffs, locals and tourists alike. Also a UNESCO World Heritage Site, the fort is one of the oldest in Asia. Within the fort complex, there is a Dutch Museum which showcases paintings, furniture and pictures of Dutch Reformed Church. Visitors can also explore the Maritime Museum or take a leisurely stroll on the rustic ramparts of the Fort while enjoying the picturesque surroundings during sunset.
